New Delhi, August 14, 2025 : India issued a blistering response Thursday to what it described as “reckless, war-mongering and hateful comments” from Pakistan’s leadership against India. “Pakistan would be well-advised to temper its rhetoric as any misadventure will have painful consequences as was demonstrated recently.”- the strong statement from Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal comes amid a series of provocative remarks by Pakistani leaders, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Pakistan Army Chief General Munir.

““We have seen reports regarding a continuing pattern of reckless, war-mongering and hateful comments from Pakistani leadership against India,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said during a press briefing. “It is well known modus-operandi of the Pakistani leadership to whip up anti-India rhetoric time and again to hide their own failures.

The rebuke follows a series of inflammatory remarks by Pakistani leaders. On Aug. 10, General Munir, speaking in Tampa, Florida, threatened to destroy Indian infrastructure impacting water flow to Pakistan, stating, “We will wait for India to build a dam, and when it does so, we will destroy it with ten missiles. The Indus river is not the Indians’ family property… We have no shortage of missiles, Alhumdulillah.” He also issued a broader nuclear threat, warning, “We are a nuclear nation. If we think we are going down, we’ll take half the world down with us.” Sharif accused India of “aggression” in Jammu and Kashmir, while Bilawal Bhutto claimed India’s policies were destabilizing the region.

Before And After Images Of The Attack On Muridke -LeT HQ During Operation Sindoor

Operation Sindoor, conducted in July 2025, was a major counterterrorism operation by Indian forces targeting Pakistan-backed terrorist networks in wake of heinous terror attack in Pahalgam. The operation neutralized key terrorists and destroyed training camps, dealing a severe blow to Pakistan’s proxy war infrastructure. Indian intelligence estimates significant losses for Pakistan.

India also dismissed a recent Court of Arbitration ruling on the Indus Waters Treaty, which Pakistan cited to criticize India’s water usage. Jaiswal stated, “India has never accepted the legality, legitimacy, or competence of the so-called Court of Arbitration. Its pronouncements are therefore without jurisdiction, devoid of legal standing, and have no bearing on India’s rights of utilisation of waters.” He reiterated that the treaty stands in abeyance due to Pakistan’s continued sponsorship of terrorism, as noted in a June 27, 2025, press release.
