Amidst escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the April 22nd terror attack in Pahalgam, unconfirmed reports suggest that there has been a skirmish on the Indo-Pak border today.

“Fighting broke out early today morning between Indian and Pakistani forces in the Pargwal-Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir,” according to a source. This is not located along the Line of Control, but on the international border between India and Pakistan.

Sources add that Pakistan is on a weak wicket and India is likely to oust them from the region which is around 3 kms long.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held another Cabinet Committee on Security and Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs today.

Amidst all this nearly 300 Pakistani nationals have crossed the Wagah Attari border to return to Pakistan in accordance with the diktat passed by India. Pakistani diplomats have left too, further downscaling the diplomatic presence in both countries.

Some Pakistanis who have returned today had been living in India without any documentation for decades. A young man was doing his Bachelors in Uri (Jammu and Kashmir) and had been living in India since 2008.

(Osama a Pakistani national was living in India since past 17 years)

While there isn’t an all-out war yet between the two nations, there is a high level of concern and tension with many world leaders asking both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint.
